Jacobite Remnant Tartan - House of Edgar Genesis of Tartan - Double Width Cloth

Charles Edward Stuart, known as Bonnie Prince Charlie, stayed at the historic Moy Hall in February of 1746. In a gesture of gratitude towards Lady Anne MacIntosh ( Colonel Anne ) for her unwavering support during his campaign, Charles presented her with a beautiful length of tartan before he departed. This exquisite piece of cloth was cherished and eventually became a significant relic of the final Jacobite rising, symbolizing the hope and struggles of that tumultuous period.

Peter MacDonald, a well-respected tartan historian, carried out some meticulous work of reevaluating the original surviving dozen tartan remnants details and deciphering the original colours of the tartan to ensure its authenticity.
