The moonstone is a translucent, milky gem with a soft, lustrous finish; prized for its subtle glow, it has been used in jewellery since ancient times. Frequently paired with silver in Celtic-inspired designs, the stone was long believed to have been formed from solidified rays of the moon, and so became associated with lunar deities and old folk traditions.
Moonstone jewellery was commonly gifted to travellers and sailors in the hope that its gentle light would guide and protect them through dark and uncertain times.
