Clan Davidson - In the year 1396, the Davidsons and MacPhersons fought valiantly side by side at the notable clan battle that took place on the North Inch of Perth. When the fierce combat finally came to a close, there were only eleven of the enemy still alive, and astonishingly, just a single Davidson remained standing.
The most prominent and strongest lines of the family eventually became known as the Davidsons of Tulloch, situated in Ross-shire, and the Davidsons of Cantray, located in Inverness. Tulloch Castle, a significant historical landmark, was constructed in the year 1466. Interestingly, a branch of this revered family can also be traced to France, where the Livre d’Or records indicate six generations of nobility prior to the year 1629.
