Traditional military regimental feather glengarry hackle made to order for pipe bands and regimental associations. 100% hand made in the UK as supplied to the regiments.

Total length from base of loop to tip of feather pressed flat approx 5 – 5 1/2″ / 12.5 – 13.5cm

Hand made from goose coquille feathers.

Suitable option for WW2 Commando bonnet hackle.

No. 9 Commando was originally established as a part of 11 Scottish Commando in 1940, deriving from the Scottish Command. It was later integrated into the 2nd Special Service Battalion. During their time with the 2nd Special Service Battalion, the members of the unit sported a black hackle on a khaki Balmoral bonnet or glengarry in lieu of a traditional cap badge. The choice of the black hackle was meant to stand for unfinished business .
