The Highland Revival
The Highland Revival style was famously popularised in the early 19th century by the highly publicised state visit of King George IV to Edinburgh in the year 1822, as well as the influential literary canon of the renowned author Sir Walter Scott.
During this period, certain distinctive features of cut, construction, and accessorising rapidly became standard practice within Highland dress style in a relatively short span of time.
