Seaforth Highlanders Canada Sgian Dubh Project
A recent Seaforth Highlanders Canada sgian dubh project represents a tribute to the rich history and traditions of this esteemed Scottish Canadian regiment. Handcrafted with precision and attention to detail, each sgian dubh is a symbol of pride and distinction, celebrating the valour and legacy of the Seaforth Highlanders.
This distinctive pattern of sgian dubh has a rich history dating back to the 19th century when it was originally utilized by the renowned 78th Highlanders Regiment of Foot. Later on, in 1881, the newly established Seaforth Highlanders embraced this design as their own.
Fast forward to 1910, with the formation of the 72nd Highlanders of Canada, which eventually evolved into the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada regiment in 1911, continuing the legacy of this traditional pattern in adopting this iconic sgian dubh design.
