The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise’s) was a distinguished line infantry regiment of the British Army with a rich history spanning from its establishment in 1881 until its integration into the Royal Regiment of Scotland in March 2006.
The regiment was originally formed as the Princess Louise’s (Sutherland and Argyll Highlanders) in 1881 after combining the 91st (Argyllshire Highlanders) Regiment of Foot and the 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot.
This formation was later adjusted in the subsequent year to switch the positions of the "Argyll" and "Sutherland" titles.
